Peeks Of Fall...

Good Morning,

Hope you are all having a good Monday morning.  It's a bit chilly here (in the 30's) and there is some frosty areas in our neighborhood.  Yesterday I took a short walkabout in our house and backyard and took some shots to give you a little peek at what Fall is looking like right now at our house.  About half of the leaves have fallen so the trees aren't too pretty right now. We are getting ready for Halloween although my oldest son still hasn't decided if he wants to dress up this year or not.  He is 11 and is in that in-between time in his life (part little boy/part pre-teen).  It's a confusing time for all of us (:

Meet Maisy...

We welcomed the newest member of our family 4 weeks ago.  Maisy is a 12 week old Basset Mix and she is a bundle of energy and curiosity.  She loves to be outside and spends most of her outside time on the back fence-line chatting with the 3 dogs who live behind us.  We are having so much fun with her.  It's been a year since Gracie died and Maisy is starting to fill that hole in my heart.

Fall 2012 Photo Shoot...

Good Morning,

I have woefully neglected this blog for far too long and haven't been keeping a good online journal of what's been happening in our lives...which is why I started this blog in the first place.

A few weeks ago I did a quick photo shoot with the boys at one of our local parks and the results are below.  I apologize in advance to my Facebook readers because you've probably seen these pics more than you care to...but...what's a Mom blogger to do?  You gotta post pics of your kids, right?  (grin).  It's been a while since I've posted pics of them here on the blog.  They are now 11 (almost 12) and 6.  Amazingly, when I started blogging they were 7 and 1.

Dwelling In The Pits...

We are all in those pits sometimes, aren't we?  I've been there many times in my life.  My husband Pat is there now and has been for some time now.  He has struggled with depression and anxiety the whole time I've known him (26 years). I wouldn't be truthful if I didn't say that it is really hard living with someone who struggles in this area.  I think that his struggles have driven me to seek joy more than I would have in any other situation.  Daily, I try to replenish my soul with positive thoughts, images and words...

...I have to.  

Pat doesn't do this and allows himself to sink further into those pits sometimes.  It's hard.  He knows what to do to help himself...counseling, reading, socializing...prayer.  Sometimes he's too far in the pit to do it. It's hard.  

Will you say a prayer for him? for me?

Wow, I have lots of favorite words...it's hard to pick just one.  I'm a Word Girl.  I have signs all over my house.  Jewelry with letters and words on it.  Journals filled with words.  I Love the written word in just about any form.
