State Capitol With The 4th Graders...

Hello Friends,

I have lost my blogging mojo for the last few months.  I'm trying to get it back.  In March I had the opportunity to go on a field trip with Kobe's class to the Jefferson City, MO and tour the State Capitol and the Governor's Mansion.  We had a great day and I learned a lot.  Even though I have been in the capitol several times for work related events, I had never had an actual tour.  It was a lot of fun...especially hearing the kids comments and seeing what they were most interested in.

The most interesting part of the tour, for me, was sitting in on a legislative session and hearing the legislators debate and vote on bills.  It was really great for the kids to see how the voting process works instead of reading about it in their textbooks.

It was a fun day and we'll be going back soon to take photos of the flowers around the capitol grounds.

Let me just say that I love Missouri.  I was born here.  I was raised here.  I choose to raise my family here.  Missouri has a lot to offer.

We have two great cities if you're craving some culture, shopping and a little excitement.

We have lots of rural areas if you want peace, quiet and open spaces.

We have mountains, streams, professional baseball teams, museums, open air markets, flat lands, farm land, amusement parks and zoos.

Missouri is a really nice vacation destination....

Especially...

If you enjoy bringing your cooler and radio and shedding your clothes in broad daylight while sitting in a fountain with your sweetie in the middle of a city.  Because Missouri wouldn't want you to take LESS of a vacation.

What in the World?  (chuckle)

Until Next Time,

Jackie

T.T.Y.L.

Well, it's Spring and it's time for a Blog Break. Time to do some cleaning, visiting with family and friends, celebrate Easter, gardening, painting (maybe) and reading. The boys are on Spring Break this week and I'm taking a couple days off too. I'll leave you with some photos from around our beautiful state of Missouri. There is a lot of natural beauty here...especially our mountains and streams. The mountains are sometimes surprising to some folks who have never been here. If you haven't seen them in person I hope you get to someday.

The Farmers Markets are also starting to open up. I'm hoping to get to ours this coming weekend. I hope you enjoy the little photo tour of a few of the Farmers Markets in MO.

I look forward to catching up with all you real soon.

T.T.Y.L. (talk to ya later)
