Inspiration Delayed...

There is no time to be inspired. Yet, I continue to find projects I want to tackle...topics I want to write about...great ideas for a book...gardens to plant...spring cleaning and organizing my house...meal planning...all things I really enjoy.

My bit for the federal and state government has been put off too long and now I'm paying for it. I'm searching through paperwork, printing reports, matching up receipts and re-working budgets. I hope to be finished in time to write a big check to the IRS tomorrow...sigh!

All the while I'm thinking about how I wish I was working in an inspiring office like this from Dear Daisy Cottage....

Or, how I'm inspired to be doing some Creative Journaling like this...

Or, how I'm inspired by urban gardeners and hope my suburban garden looks something like this someday...

Mostly, I'd just like to sit outside in the shade and dig into my new book...

Time for all that later, much later, I'm afraid...better get back to work!

Until Next Time,

Jackie

  3. You are not alone in being a procrastinator, Jackie. Lately I've been better understanding that if I didn't procrastinate the necessary things I'd have time to pursue all of the other things that end up on my "one day" list. I'm a slow learner.

  4. Your post describes my feelings exactly! So many things I'd rather be doing right now! I love the Life is a Verb book. I already have it pulled up on Amazon:?

As a matter of fact I can even walk my self through it ,and by the time I am done , I realize I could have just did it. Ever do that? LOL . I only wish I could garden. I did get some flower seeds and I'll plant them. But like always , I know that they won't come up. My thumb is so brown!

  8. Ours was horrible - worst ever! (taxes that is!)
I feel your pain, Jackie. You sound much like me. Procrastinating the unpleasantries in life - too bad they just won't go away! :) Best wishes to you. -Tammy

  9. I sat and did taxes yesterday. I had "roughed them out" a few weeks earlier (getting roughed up in the process!) but finally bit the bullet and Did Them Right last night. Sigh.

I hear you totally about inspiration and ideas on the sideline while we do our required tasks first. My garden is calling me daily and I think "maybe this weekend," then look at the calendar and think "well, maybe Sunday..." since Saturday is already spoken for.

    Here's to dreams and inspiration!

  13. Pretty much anything is more fun than taxes, unless they owe YOU money. LOL!

I used to have a home office/craft room that was pretty awesome. It was even featured in a National magazine in 2006. I don't have it anymore because the PRESSURE created by it ruined my creativity. Sounds weird, I know, but it's true. I did a post about it way back http://thegregbeefamily.blogspot.com/2008/09/truth-in-advertising.html

Those great spaces aren't all they're cracked up to be. Just enjoy what you have!
