Angel Food Ministries

Have you heard about Angel Food Ministries?

I've known about it for several years but I have never ordered because I could never seem to get myself over to the local church site to place my order. They now have online ordering and I placed my first order this morning. You get a lot of food for $30 and this is a program for everyone. They say, "If you eat, you qualify".

Here is a little information from their website:
Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. The program began in 1994 with 34 families in Monroe, Georgia (between Atlanta and Athens), and has grown to serve hundreds of thousands of families every month across 35 states. Angel Food Ministries crosses denominational lines and has spread the good news of the gospel of Christ through salvation tracts that are placed in each food order.

Angel Food is available in a quantity that can fit into a medium-sized box at $30 per unit. Each month's menu is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items with an average retail value of approximately $60. Comparison shopping has been done across the country in various communities using a wide range of retail grocery stores and has resulted in the same food items costing from between $42 and $78.

This is what is on the April Menu...all for $30.

  1. I have gotten angel food ministries before. The food has always been very good and you can't beat the price. I will have to see if they do online ordering around here, too. I can't ever seem to get down there to order. If we can do it online now, that would be perfect!! :)

  2. We bought a regular box back in December and were very pleased with the quality of the food. We skipped several months, but have just placed an order for April of 2 regular boxes (now called signature boxes) and 1 of the #4 specials--10 lbs. IQF chicken breast. Total cost is $81 and savings is about $65 for April!

    We've already saved about $40 on Kroger senior day 10% discounts and coupons (reduced about $260 in groceries to about $218), so we'll have about $100 total to put in our savings for moving expenses (a year or so away).

    We could NOT do this without the savings we're getting with Angel Food! :}

  3. I volunteer to distribute Angel Food in my community. Angel Food is a big help to a lot of people. For $30 you get a box of food worth about $60, and the menu varies each month. It’s not just for lower-income families -- everyone qualifies to participate. It’s really a great system. Local Angel Food host sites are listed at http://www.angelfoodministries.com/hosts.asp.
