My Creative Space...

Well, I guess I will call myself a creative person. For as long as I can remember I have always been working on something whether it's decorating my home, planning, planting or tending to a garden, stitchery, scrapbooking, journaling and visual journaling and most recently building a Dream Board and Writing. Everywhere we have lived I have claimed some spot in our house/duplex/apartment as my Creative Space. In this house, I'm fortunate enough to have an office. It doubles as a spare bedroom but most of the time it's my space. It's not super organized but it's very comfortable. It's a place of Prayer, Peace and Creativity. Here's a little tour of my Creative Space...

  5. I LOVE your creative space. I am such a sucker for a handwritten card. It seems these day people would rather send an email, text, etc. (which is nice), but NOTHING beats a handwritten card. Your space looks GREAT!!!

Thankfully we have an office too where I store alot of my creative things, but I have my sewing machine set up in my bedroom, my knitting project is in my purse. . . scrapbooking?? A hobby I dearly miss, but hope to get back to, I will do at the kiddos school table.

    Have a great weekend!

  7. Your description of your space, seems to fit right in with Joseph Campbell's description of our individual 'Sacred Space.' A very, very necessary thing for each of us to have, in his view.

  8. I am with you, I love "my space" I actually have two in my home. One is my study, where I enjoy my quiet time, reading, and so forth. The other is my craft room. I am a very organized person, everything has a place and everything in its place! My friend makes fun of me, she is the opposite..LOLOL

You have a beautiful space!! Enjoy it!!!

  9. I'm in love with your work space. It seems so calming and inviting! I'm lucky enough to have my own room for a studio but I haven't really fixed it up yet. Mostly I just make messes and then clean them up LOL!

  10. Your space looks great! My space is the spare bedroom...but no bed so it's actually just computer/sewing room.
Have you seen the quarterly magazine 'Where Women Create'? Very inpiring!
I've gotten so bad at sending real cards. I try to have some on hand either store bought or even hand made, but seems like I never have the appropriate card when needed. Then time gets away.

  11. I've been thinking about turning our guest room into an office for me. Your office is great...especially the view out the window.

I agree with you on the real cards, along with real, handwritten letters sent in an envelope with a stamp. What a rare treat!

  12. What a cozy room. I love it, especially the view!

I've turned a little hallway in the upstairs of the farmhouse into my nook. It needs some painting and decorating come spring. Thanks for the inspiration!

    Be well! ~Andrea~

  13. Hi Jackie !!

What a beautiful and motivating post..I have a small studio apartment on the back of my garage that I claim as my "studio", where I paint and do crafty stuff...when it's not being used by one or another person needing a place to stay temporarily. I also have an offfice where the computer is, and here I do most of my writing. The studio is very Bohemian, lol, with all manner of stuff all over the walls..everything from old photo collages to beautiful squares of cloth to paper wire in a dozen glimmery colors. And handwritten quotes. Yup. Right on the walls. (I really should have painted that room first, because now I want to paint the walls, but there's too much stuff to take down! ) lol

You've made me want to work on the office now. Shame on you!! lol

  15. Hey, I'm heading over to your creative space so I can be creative!

My creative space...oh, I don't know. I have a nice desk that I got from the church garage sale, and it sort of defines are area in a large, open, shared space (basically a family room). It's not very calming, peaceful or creative. But I'm creative in the space anyway, because it's all I've got.

Sometimes I retreat to my bedroom and curl up on my bed. It's quieter there.

Someday I hope to have a little more space to myself, but I'm okay for now. I'm willing to make-do.
